Volunteers are the backbone of Rainbow Ski Club, and under our new operating model they’re more important than ever. As a community-owned club, our ability to operate, open lifts, host events, and keep costs accessible relies on members pitching in and sharing the load. You will need to be a member of the club to volunteer, join here.
Volunteering isn’t just about helping out — it’s about being part of what makes Rainbow special. Whether you’re on-mountain, behind the scenes, or helping out at events, every hour makes a real difference to the club and the experience for everyone.
Volunteer Credits – How It Works (you need to be a financial member of the club to volunteer)
To recognise the time and effort our volunteers contribute, Rainbow uses a simple credit system:
- 4 hours of volunteering = 1 credit
- 1 credit = 1 day pass
- 1 credit = individual membership fee
- 6 credits = individual season pass
Credits are flexible and can be used in the way that suits you best.
- Any unused credits can roll over into the following season.
- Your membership needs to remain active to use credits.
- You can transfer your credits to other financial members.
On-Mountain Accommodation
As an added bonus, volunteers who complete a full day of volunteering on a weekend may have the opportunity to stay in our on-mountain staff accommodation (subject to availability). It’s a great way to make the most of your time on the hill, soak up the Rainbow atmosphere, and enjoy being part of the community.
This volunteer model helps keep Rainbow affordable, sustainable, and community-driven — while rewarding those who give their time to support the club. Whether you can help regularly or just a few days a season, every contribution counts and helps ensure Rainbow continues to thrive for years to come.
