Rainbow Updates and Survey

Hi All, we have been busy wrapping up the 2021 season and putting our budgets in place for 2022. With all that happened over 2021 we are very pleased with our final position and we will have more on that soon. Read on to get some updates on how you can get involved with the club, new events and Early Bird Season Pass Sale for 2022. We also have our end of season survey, click here to fill in with a chance to win two day passes for 2022.

Tom recently attended the SAANZ conference at Cardrona – a great opportunity for Rainbow to keep up to date with industry projects and connections. Discussions were held around the new Covid Traffic Light system. More details on how this will affect us will continue to come to light as the Government make further announcements. Rainbow will follow their guidelines and implement as required.

A Co2 Calculator has been developed, and SAANZ have collectively agreed that as a group we need to be proactive towards this for our concessions as this will become mandated. Discussions around DOC concessions were also had and we are working on ours with our local DOC office and are having our Iwi Ngati Apa ki te Ra visit this month.

Early Bird Season Pass Sale – Coming soon! Keep an eye on FB and our website.
This is the absolute best price you will get our 2022 Season Passes. Ideal for a Christmas present or to just be sorted for next season. We are running our split payment and insurance options again, and an exciting new offer – Club Memberships.
If you purchase a Club Membership – $50 per Adult, or $30 per Youth you will enjoy discounts off your Day pass each time you visit during the Season. This also includes voting rights as a member at our AGM, access to our Summer activities and other benefits that we pass on as offered to us.
Summer Projects & Work Parties – Rainbow is thrilled to now have Thomas Harry fully employed as our year-round Mountain Manager – Rainbow sure is in good hands with Tom. Tom has several projects planned and we will continue to have Work parties to involve Club Members. Please keep an eye on your inbox and FB as these are scheduled.

We are working hard at Rainbow to continue to be as sustainable and protect our special environment as much as we can. We actively are putting plans in place to make this a priority. One area we can make improvements is by tree planting in our local area.

Rainbow needs to plant 900 trees to cover our Co2 usage and that we are aiming to plant 1,500 trees by next season. We plan to plant on local land owned by a farmer who skis at Rainbow. Your support of this event would be appreciated. Watch Facebook for more details
Cafe 2022 – It’s time to look at our contract for our Cafe Business. We are going out to Tender and welcome anyone who loves giving good service and making great food and coffee to apply. Please email us at info@skirainbow.co.nz for further information and with any questions regarding this.

Rainbow Sports Club needs you!
We are on the hunt for 2 additional people to join the Social Sub Committee to help us organise our annual club events. If this sounds like you please email markunwin@skirainbow.co.nz
